less than you might think...

Don't you hate those websites that won't tell you what anything costs?

The reality is that it's really hard to sketch out the likely pricing of an event without knowing the answer to a lot of questions: technical requirements, duration of event, access (stairs take time and cost money!), number of crew required, distance from base...

So here's a rough guide:

The event in the picture above required the use of an active PA system (two bass cabs, two mid-tops) with four 'wedge' monitors. The load-in was easy (and the organisers helped), the natives were friendly, about a dozen mics and stands were needed, and there was one member of crew required to take care of the sound during the performance. The whole thing took around six hours and would, ordinarily have cost about £150 (but if you read the sidebar you'll see this one was actually one of our occasional series of "community" pro-bono events).

Over on the Rough Beats page you'll see a bigger PA system (some of which was also used recently at Fair Intents) which goes out for £300 per day (discounts for additional days) with two crew members required (but it could cost a little more than this if the distance, access or duration of the event is well above average).

If you want side-stage monitor mix, LED lights and all the trimmings we might need to use two vehicles to transport the equipment to your site which will put things into the £450 per day zone.

Also, with the example setup above, if you can keep your energy requirements within reason you won't need to budget for a generator because we'll bring all the power we need with our solar panels*, bicycle generators and big, big, batteries (pre-charged on wind power).

If it's just two speakers and two mics in the back room of a pub that you're needing you may well get us to stir from our luxuriously upholstered over-stuffed armchairs for less than a hundred quid. Get in touch for a quote.

We can also do conferences, solar power demonstrations for schools and pretty much anything in the world of AV that you can think of. Depending on the requirements for projectors, lights, and any extras we may need to get hold of (special props, staging etc.) the pricing for these are a bit more complex so please get in touch.

If it really makes no sense to use the "sustainable" energy sources (and sometime it doesn't such as indoor events) our equipment is happy to be plugged into the mains and you still get the benefit of the enhanced efficiency of our light and sound equipment to keep your eco-friendly credentials in order.

*note: Does not apply in mid-winter or heavily shaded areas.
